At the Lake

Digital Photographic Print on Canvas Wrap

At the Lake is part of my SkyFields series. I present interactions between colors using my own de-constructed photographs. Manipulating my photographs is both calming and stimulating. It gives me a sense of control when my life feels slightly otherwise, and it also inspires a curious and playful spirit. The title of the series (SkyFields) comes from the original subject of all of the photographs - the sky and in most cases, the horizon. It also pays tribute to the work of Color Field painters from the 1960s. For my viewers, I want my work to present the traditional landscape photograph in a fresh way. On a deeper level, I hope to inspire a heightened sensitivity to color as an artistic pathway to a higher state of humanity.
