Orangizoni is part of my SkyFields Series. I present interactions between colors using my own de-constructed photographs. Manipulating my photographs is both calming and stimulating. It gives me a sense of control when my life feels slightly otherwise, and it also inspires a curious and playful spirit. The title of the series (SkyFields) comes from the original subject of all of the photographs - the sky and in most cases, the horizon. It also pays tribute to the work of Color Field painters from the 1960s. The title of this piece plays with the words, “orange” and “horizon” just as the picture plays with the original photograph of a sunset over the ocean. For my viewers, I want my work to present the traditional landscape photograph in a fresh way. On a deeper level, I hope to inspire a heightened sensitivity to color as an artistic pathway to a higher state of humanity.
